POSTAL CODE – LETTER OF INTERVENTION TO MINISTER NIKOS PAPPAS
The Hellenic Post is going through extremely difficult times, having to deal with the total liberalization of the postal market, the intense competition by 530 post services companies licenced by the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission, the reduction of letter mail due to its replacement by electronic mail, the recession in Greece and, finally, various economic adversities that the company is facing.
However, despite all the above problems and no matter how adverse the circumstances may be, the Hellenic Post is the only presence of the Greek state in remote, hard to reach border regions, where it offers Universal Postal Services and Services of General Economic Interest without ever receiving any kind of compensation for them.
THE HELLENIC POST ENTERS ELECTRIC POWER MARKET OFFERING THE BEST PRICES
On Monday 24 April, after many years of effort, the Hellenic Post is officially among the most powerful “players” in the Greek electricity market.
Our Organization’s strategic decision to enter the electric power sector aims on one hand at benefiting from its liberalization and on the other at dealing in the best possible way with the repercussions of the economic crisis, the differentiation of the postal services on a global scale and the liberalization of the Greek postal market.

THE PRESS WROTE
The suspension of operation of 40 Postal Offices in the evening hours and on Sundays, extensively raised the printed press.
WE SAY NO TO PSEUDO-DEBATES
We all know that the problems that the Hellenic Post Office and its employees are facing are of such intensity, that there is no room for complacence nor for experimentation, rash actions, setbacks – and much less for practices reminiscent of past political parties tactics, which have been condemned by the entire Hellenic Post Office workforce.
The Hellenic Post Office Administration, in these times so crucial for the future of the Organization, instead of dealing with its very serious problems, chose to waste time and energy on issues that disrupt its operation and disappoint its employees.
In the middle of the Easter period and during meetings reminiscent of conventicles, disregarding institutional procedures, the Administration made totally irrational decisions regarding interventions in the Hellenic Post Office's operation and personnel issues. Said decisions brought only negative reactions ever since their announcement.

BEST WISHES FOR THE NEW YEAR
TECHNICAL INSTITUTION: 42 YEARS AFTER
71 YEARS FROM ATHENS' LIBERATION
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...
We denounce the unprovoked attack against people, institutions as well as the Organization itself by certain individuals who choose to hide behind aliases while seeking to create an environment of suspicion and mistrust by employing underworld methods and using “masked men” as their instruments.
We are referring to one specific e-mail from an unknown sender who uses the alias “ZENO THE POSTMAN”, which was sent massively on November 12th 2014 to the Post Office employees' work e-mail accounts and which mentions by name various colleagues of ours, candidates for Managerial positions, “selecting” them for special posts of great responsibility and “linking” them to political parties and trade unions, thus damaging their reputation and breaking – in the most disgraceful and inflammatory way – every rule of morality and dignity.
